I believe Milwaukee pattern
is the least numerous of Belter's pierced
carved patterns. I also believe Milwaukee
pattern is one link between Cornucopia pattern
and Belter's other nine patterns because
Milwaukee pattern furniture uses both Belter's
typical flat arabesques and the cornucopia/arabesques
seen on Cornucopia pattern furniture.
The configuration of the
arabesques in the backs of Milwaukee pattern
furniture is an elaborate expansion of the
closed carved Rosalie pattern.
