A Tuthill King pattern armchair has descended in the family of John Henry Belter. The general appearance and construction of Tuthill King pattern furniture and the descension of a Tuthill King pattern armchair in Belter's family make the attribution of this pattern to Belter undisputable.

An article "John Henry Belter & Company" written for the magazine ANTIQUES by Joseph Downs (Curator of the American wing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City) in September, 1948, illustrates the Tuthill King pattern armchair that descended in the family of Belter's brother in law and business partner William Springmeyer.
